I, too, have been surfing around to research the prototypes. I'm interested in the LV version because I model PA, etc. When I compare the pictures of the LV prototype with the model, it looks like the tender is definitely too small. I saw a lot of pictures of the various prototypes hauling freight and saw a note that said that that genre of Northern was designed for fast freight service.
