Peco track system from the UK is arguably the best track system in HO. It
started arriving in Canada in the mid 1960's. The turnouts are insulated
directionally and the points are sprung so motorizing is not really
necessary. The motor which is a double solenoid is optional and mounts
directly under the points so only a small rectangular hole is necessary which
of course can be covered by cardstock.

The only problem with turnouts that may have been solved was the gap at the
frog to accomodate the then larger flanges of the UK standard. This was
solved by laminating a strip of stryene in that area.

The Peco Flex track set a standard that some track makers still have not
achieved.

I believe that the track system now comes in code 100, code 83 and code 75.

Many 'scale' users swear by it. I know that when I was in HO, I did.

cheers,

Andy Malette
