I'm not sure why anyone would use anything other than pennies for
weight, as long as they will fit in the car. Ounce for ounce they are
the cheapest item you can get. Why spend five cents for a washer that
is lighter than five pennies? I do realize that not all us S scalers
are penny pinchers like I, but hey, if you save ten cents a car on
weights and you have fifty cars, you just saved, well, enough to buy a
hamburger and a coke......
Really, I don't think it's that big an issue, but I wonder at people
who spend $$$ on lead car weights to put inside a boxcar, when the
pennies do the same thing for much less cost.
