Hi Roy,Friends,
I'm sure Keith is disappointed in some of his projects not selling
as expected. I think he was discouraged some time back but decided that
he was actually getting orders so he kept going. I have purchased
several of his kits: first gas station, toxic terminal, and one of the
warehouse rows--all excellent kits. His kits definitely filled a nitch
for me that balanced the other kits from Banta, Fineskinds, Leigh Valley
and BTS who build many of their kits with a geographical flavor.
However, how many kits can I guy use on his layout? Additionally some
of those kits were really designed for the die-cast car crowd anyway as
they do eat up a lot of real estate. The gas station, motel, cafe's,
fire station and drive-in's all make for a great 'roadside scene along
the tracks' but not many people have that kind of room to devote to a
non railroad served area!
I could think of a several structures that could use his urethane
type construction that might have a bit better appeal to railroad
people. I would think that a concrete type coaling tower, a fairly
modern diesel house/industrial factory, and a SP/UP common standard
steel water tank might sell a good number of kits. But it's not my call
or my money.
