Bob/ Simon/ et al... If you make any progress on this, please keep the group informed. I have an ALCO Models RS2 that suffers from the same problems. It is sleeping quietly in its box (painted in NYC Lightning Stripes!) waiting for a fix. I thought about adapting the AM RS drive, but prefer the original's detail and truck sideframes...
