I have heard in the past that artist's matte medium is good for gluing ties in 
place because 
if a modeler were to change his or her mind about the tie placement, he or she 
could 
scrape the ties up much easier than if he or she had fastened them down with 
white glue. 
Is this true??  If indeed this is true, would diluted matte medium serve well 
for securing 
ballast?
