Michael,  that would solve much of the problem, but one really needs a 
universal copy that includes all the magazines that are commonly 
available.  For instance, if you want to build a particular station--do 
a search for that station and perhaps a MR article comes up along with 
one from Trains and one from Scale Rails.  I really don't care who 
published the article, if I'm searching for reference material, the more 
the better.

Incidently, I recently purchased an additional VHS/DVD combo player 
(Sony brand) but it will not play my railroad DVD's.  I have a few from 
Pentrex, Green Frog and some others that are even more limited 
productions.  I understand that Hollywood has made the manufacturers 
change or limit the formats to discourage illegal copying--the problem 
is I bought mine legally.  I haven't checked out all of mine, but so far 
non will play, but the commonly available Hollywood productions do just 
fine.
