I can't speak for the latest versions of the FP7 or FA2, but the scale
version of AM U25B includes pads for frame mounting Kadee couplers.
However, I still had to shim the pads to bring the coupler height down
to the correct height.
The AM Trainsmasters and E8's are set up for truck mounted couplers.
I've used SHS F-unit couplers and brackets on the rear of the E8's and
frame mounted snap-locks on the front. Haven't quite figured out how
to handle frame mounting on the TM's due to how far the coupler has to
stick out in order for the footboards to clear on my curves.
