Hi All --
I have also found that using a .040 drill to make holes to match the Kadee
802 box will allow you to use the Kadee self tapping screws provided with
the couplers. I have never had these fail, but I have had car damage from
train mishandling!
Have fun!

The Kadee 802/808 is easily mounted on AM house cars by drilling (#52 bit)
and tapping for a 1-72 machine screw through the dimple on the bottom of the
floor's coupler pad. You may have to ream the coupler box's center hole with
a 1-72 clearance drill (#48 bit). Then run a 1-72 screw into the hole to
secure the Kadee box. If the box tends to rotate about the screw axis, a dot
of super glue where the box meets the floor will prevent this. If you want a
firmer mount, follow this by drilling (#55 bit) and tapping for 0-80 machine
screws through the two outer holes in the Kadee box and run 0-80 screws into
these holes. These methods are a lot simpler than reaming the box and the
coupler shank for a 2-56.
