Well, we commented on Ed Loizeaux's image in the December Model Railroader, I
found there were also other neat things of interest in that issue.

(1) Ed told us he too was surprised with the image, it was one taken four years
ago for his feature article. Ed suggested that MR must keep a pretty large
file. Jamie Bothwell told me this past sunday, that Model Railroader tries to
cover all modeling types in their December issues. I didn't know that!

(2) Rod Stewart's Three River City article is worth buying the magazine alone.
What I found of most interest in the article is that it is modeled after the
Pennsylvania and New York Central Railroads. WOW! Imagine that! Also it is
somewhat named after a great Pennsylvania city, Pittsburgh's converging three
rivers. This eight page article is a must read. Sort of reminded me of Roy
Hoffman's Penn Western S scale layout.

(3) This December issue also has a great article on "Hand laying Turnouts"
without a hassle. Geeezzz, I been doing that for years! (Except for having the
frogs molded.) But then, we can buy our frogs too, if we wish!

(4) "Modeling Commuter Service" is also a excellent article and should be of
interest to small layout builders.

I bought the 2007 Great Model Railroads issue this morning. Steve Amitrano's,
The Denver & Rio Grande Western Chili Line, Sn3 layout is featured this year.
Really a great article with lots of good pictures!

I would like to think that my negative letter to MR last year about no 3/16th
scale in their 2006 GMRR issue, helped this cause!
We have so many beautiful layouts, Model Railroader shouldn't miss any for
years to come.

When looking at all the images in Great Model Railroads, I get the feeling that
Digital Photography (DI) has helped so many take great pictures of their
layouts, so much easier. The photography is outstanding!

It seems that the editors of Model Railroader in recent years, are coming out
with so much that all scale modelers can adapt to,
That it makes their magazine more attractive to all of us.

Have a great day,
Bill Fraley
