Well said.  Your comments show the kind of forward thinking that will most 
strengthen S-scale. We have struggled without a publication for S-scale ever 
since Bill Wade's S/Sn3 Modeling Guide folded.  I think one reason we have 
failed (apologies to Mr. Bendever)  is that there has been too much pressure to 
produce a slick magazine.  I get more information from the Bay Area S Scale 
(BASS) two page newsletter and from this Yahoo list than from the big-time 
magazines.  A simple black/white listing of new products, manufacturers, 
conferences, and club activities on a bi-monthly schedule would distribute 
information, unify us, and support the scale.  I don't think the Dispatch from 
the NASG does this now.  It has too much space devoted to hi-rail and Flyer and 
too long a lead time on news.
