I'm with Billy on this one. The last time I looked, the NASG wasn't
a financial institution chartered to make loans for for someone to
produce something. And the few time it sponsored a project, there's
wailing and gnashing of electrons about how the NASG shoulda done
this, that or the other thing instead.

I may be wrong here, but I don't think the NASG even produces or
finances the "convention cars." That duty seems to fall on the
convention hosts.

Seems to me that a couple of years ago, there was a great thumping of
chests about S being the "scratchbuilders" scale and if you didn't
like it, get thee to HO. After all, how hard could a cantilever
signal brdge be to build? Couple of hunks of brass rod, some solder
and presto! Instant signal bridge...

Now, I make no pretense to being a scratchbuilder. The few thing's
I've built from scratch tend to be small, not well detailed and
concealed nicely by a coat of paint.

Sure, there's a lot of things I would like to see done in S. Most
probably wouldn't interest more than a handful of folks. I don't
expect the NASG to take on the risk. Maybe someday some one will
come out with some of these things, but I'll work with the hand I'm
dealt with.
