okay, I'm a new convert to S-scale.

#1 reason: Sn42 loco (G8) is produced in this scale by
Railmaster, and dual gauge can be modelled if one
chooses Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland...now if I can
find an SW1200RS!

#2 reason: time for a change, lost most of my trains
in a fire in December, adn S-scale IS a nice size, as
everyone says (yes even the HO guys who have problems
putting their choo choos on the tracks readily admit
that S is a nice size, kind of like the baby bear
thing with Goldilocks....)

#3 reason: the manufacturers seem to stick together!
at least at shows (Springfield, Mass 2008). Life is
too short for some of the bull that goes on in other
scales.....!

Comments I've heard from other MRR's about not
changing scales:

-- no big GiHuge-ick engines (probably a pre AM 4-8-4
comment!)

-- not enough selection of equipment ( especially
passenger cars and modern BIG freight cars....)

my comments:
S scalers seem to be genuine and nice people (like
most of the narrow gaugers I know in other scales!)

Would like to see the 85' smooth side streamliners
released again....

besides planning a CN pike based on PAB, Newfoundland,
am considering a standard gauge pike in addition,
probably late steam era/early diesel era...with at
terminal area reminiscent of the Fort Street Depot in
Detroit....many railroads and choices of equipment...

and for cost, have you seen the prices of the RTR HO
freigh and passenger cars recently?

Bill
