And I sold off a large collection of N to get into S. And two members 
of our group sold off their O to get into S, and another sold off all 
of his HO to get into S. I agree, it's not hard - especially with 
facilities like eBay and craigslist today. But refusal and denial is 
still what I frequently hear when I speak to the "if I didn't already 
have" crowd.

Too many people treat their acquisitions like luggage - they expect 
to buy one set and keep it for the rest of their lives. Or, as my 
good friend once put it, they are "weighed down with chains like 
Jacob Marley". 

An unfortunate economic reality is that to increase your market share 
you often (but not always) need to pre-produce more goods for the 
market to consume. This forces at least one manufacturer into an 
exposed position. If the move fails, the chance of them doing it 
again approaches zero.
