Hi Bob, Yes Fred Little of Houston,TX was an amazing craftsman and did an
absolutely unbelievable detailed to every fitting, valve, pipe, fully detailed
backhead and every nut and bolt and on and on re-build on that Nord.
The engine ran almost noislessly and could crawl along at just about
imperceptable slowness. The PFM sound wa super...especially being able to work
the whistle and have a reverberating echo (something that no one in DCC has
been able to do yet!!!). That engine was a piece of artwork.
Fred was very reluctant to show it at any competition, and very humble. For
those that never had the wonderful pleasure of knowing Fred Little...he was a
top notch O scale modeler and all his models were fantastic, he even built a
custom building above his garage with coved ceilings and no visual clues to
transition from vertical to horizontal and corners...wow. I feel blesed that I
was able to see him, his family and custom built layout bldg. before he
transitioned to the BIG RR in the sky...I really mis the many modeling sesions
(during which he was re-working/building the Nord engine) we shared at my home
and at Jack Troxells and his hospitality at his home.
I am getting verklempt here.....S Gaugingly, Peter Loeb
