Ah yes, the Overland S-2.

I purchased an S-1 and an S-2 back in 1986. Both units ran very noisy out
of the box and lacked good electrical contacts. I relubed both units and
added additional wheel wipers. The S-1 ran much quieter and the pickup was
improved. The S-2 still runs very noisy and as a result has spent most of
its life on the shelf.

I have installed DCC with sound which covers some of the gear noise so the
S-1 is acceptable. I would be interested in any experiences other folks
have had with these units and what they did to remedy any problems.

Thanks

David Held
