Yes, I sent an e-mail early this morning too. Sam "the answer man"
from Kadee came back with a question about what the prototype size of
a type E coupler is. That seemed like a strange question from a
company that specializes in couplers. They more than anyone should
know what the prototype size of a type E coupler is...

I have just switched from N-scale, so I, too, am facing the decision
as to which coupler to standardize my equipment on. In N-scale I used
Micro-Trains' Z-scale coupler because it operated like the N-scale
one, but it was closer to prototype size. I, for one, want both
features: true-to-scale and usable in operating sessions. If it is
possible in N-scale, I would imagine it should be possible in S-scale.

Just my $0.02...
      Peter.
