Ed, Pieter, MR has it's own in house photo staff that will shoot the samples they receive. I don't know how RR savvy the photogs are, but if they are, they're probably HO or O three rail (just like most HS employees BTW). This photo is taken at no cost to the manufacturer--so you get exactly what you didn't pay for! Photographer cracked open the box and shot it--quick and dirty, we call it! If Des Plains provided the photo then it was their call.
When SHS started out we were fairly careful to feature both types of couplers. Often I sat down and put on 802's fairly often. It takes more time but I did care on how my stuff looked.
