RE : Hi, Simon.  Yeah, this issue was addressed quite a few times throughout 
this thread.  And I've even suggested a MUCH simpler approach to fixing this 
"incompatibility" issue between couplers without the need for a coupler that 
will couple with both existing couplers.  The simplest possible solution is a 
"Conversion Car," which is nothing more than a special car with one type 
coupler on one end and the other type coupler on the other end.  Sergent on one 
end and Kadee on the other.  The MRR club I occasionally visit in Savannah uses 
sometimes as many as three conversion cars on the trains they run on their 
layouts, switching back and forth (with these special cars) along the train 
between the various types of couplers used by the members.   Works like a 
dream, and it couldn't be simpler!
