Hi Rusty,
I put a new mtor in my niagara, its a23/42 Faulhaber and my Tsunami
loves it! Its an easy swap and you get a lot more room to wire it. Ed and Don
are correct, you mite just as well use a DSX decoder if you use two decorders.
Got the motor from the motorman (Micro Loco Motion) in Texas, the price was
right. Need more info I will be glad to help.

I have received may emails and they all point in the same
direction. The decoder will be returned to Soundtraxx with an
explanation of just how dumb I really am! I will now begin using two
decoders. One for the motor control and one for the sound. I
understand that the things will have to be programmed for all of this
to work but, hands down, the two decoder idea has been the number one
response from those with the DCC experience.
I have 15-20 locomotives and I'm looking at putting a small chunk
of change into this. Whacking my thumb real good just makes me jump up
and down a lot, but I don't see dollar bills flying out of my pocket.
After frying that decoder I knew I needed outside help.
Rusty
