Well, Jim, I can't imagine who would want to discourage you. It's impressive that you've found 40 individuals who are interested and committed enough to attend an occasional round-robin meeting. Keep it up! Tom

Unfortunately, for those us of not in "S scale country", like North Carolina, we don't have the option of driving 50 miles or less to visit an S layout or help a friend. Truth is, we've had to scour 4 states to gather about 40 modelers for our Blue Ridge "S"calers round-robin meetings. The fact that we HAVE 40 members is shocking in itself, based on negative comments some of us received while forming the group. These folks come from the eastern half of TN, western NC, SW Virginia and upstate SC. I think there is only 1 NASG member is all of South Carolina. There may be other scalers who are not NASG members but they are dug in like a tick on a hound. The density of S scalers outside of the typical North, Northeast and Midwest regions (demographically very similar to O scale) allows for such gatherings. Even simple activities, such as evening get-togethers or Saturday shows, below the Mason-Dixon Line are spotty at best and, usually, non-existent.
