Even simple activities, such as evening get-togethers
or Saturday shows, below the Mason-Dixon Line are spotty
at best and, usually, non-existent.

Here is an idea: Forget the simple activities and work
at doing a HUGE event -- like the NASG Annual Convention.
Based on my recent trip to Asheville, NC to visit with my son
(now a conductor on NS), the area is beautiful and the modeling
is superb. With a dozen hardworking guys or so, the group can manage
convention planning and execution. I sure like to visit that area
again and have the visit coincide with an NASG convention. It is not
too hard to ignore the AF swap/sell tables. Hint, hint.....Ed L.
