I bought four of the plain sided versions and started working on them.
I have seen a few excellent models made with those kits. Fortunately or
unfortunately the American Models streamlined cars came out and I
stopped building them. They do require some sanding and wood filling
for the roof. Most of the underbody consists of simple wooden blocks,
so that invites some more work down there. I was always concerned about
the final assembly which is glueing the sides into the body cavity.
Everything must be painted, glass inserted, and any weathering added
before gluing them in, then hoping you never have to take them apart!
