What I have came as Chester cars, mainly from the late Dr. Charles H. Johnson in St. Louis, though a few from Hoquat. Some had floors 3/8" thick, all have ends which were a metal plate which had 4 wood screw holes, two for the floor, and two for that part of the roof below the curve and behind the sides; I glued a piece of thin plastic over them in most cases to hide the screw holes and seam between the wood end and the top edge of the metal. None of my cars had ends that came with any more finish than that. I always considered them to be Southern Crescent prototype cars because of the window arrangements, though as I mentioned earlier ATSF and RI had cars that were the same siding, but different windows. He made new patterns for the ends, bulkheads, trucks and other detail parts. He offered the cars with either fluted or flat sides. His widow Mary sold the line to someone in Cincinnati, Ohio in the early 80's.
