Rusty, I am convincd that there are "mail people problems". I still take slides 
and when everything went to Dwayne's in Parsons, KS several years ago the 
service actually improved over what it had been thru Fuji in Phoenix (I gave up 
on Kodak's service years ago) even Fuji was pretty good. Suddenly that changed. 
I'd mail slide film on a Monday, Dwayne's would have it on Wednesday, process 
it and get it out that day or the next, and then it would take 2 to 3 weeks to 
get the slides back. After much back & forth with the POs on both ends, our 
regional mail center in Milwaukee, and with Dwayne's applying pressure on their 
end, things turned around and service is excellent again. That took about 2 
years. Now, the PO never really told me where the problem was but obviously 
someone was sitting on the slides somewhere between Parsons and Oconomowoc, WI 
where my PO is. I suspect the problem was in Milwaukee where I know the workers 
were trying to get the PO to hire more people and there also some problems with 
supervisors, sick days, etc.but I don't know that. Anyway, that's my experience.
The fact that you are ordering from several different places and having 
difficulty with all of them seems to indicate that the problem is likely 
located at the center that gets the stuff from all over and then sends it to 
your PO.

  Last month I ordered several "S" scale items from different
  sources. One in Texas, one in Canada, and one in Colorado. None of
  them have arrived and all the shippers state that they were shipped in
  October. I do believe they are telling the truth. Has anybody else had
  a problem? I did not think the dollar amount warranted insurance, I
  also didn't ask for tracking. I would ask my mail carrier about it but
  he doesn't speak English. I'm not kidding about that either. My only
  option now is to stop going through the US Mail unless their is
  tracking and insurance no matter what the dollar amount is, even a
  $3.00 item!
