Hi Peter, I had a similar issue when trying to change the pilots on my SW-1 - I didn't want to break something.
I emailed Robin at SHS and had a quick response with the directions I needed. Good Luck. Terry Pond Tillsonburg, Ont. ----- Original Message ----- From: Peter Vanvliet To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, December 29, 2008 9:09 PM Subject: {S-Scale List} Question About SHS Removing Truck Cover Plate I am trying to change out the wheelset of my new SHS NW2. I have never done one of these. I am following the instructions and I have removed the coupler. I now need to gain access to the wheels to replace them. The plastic cover at the bottom of the truck supposedly snaps onto the metal support of the truck. I can see how that is done. However, what I can't figure out is how to get that plastic cover to snap *off* of the metal part of the truck. I am trying to use a small jeweler screwdriver but I can't seem to get it in between the metal and the plastic cover. I am doing this to the front of the truck. What is the best way to open them? I am afraid of being too rough and breaking the plastic cover. Any help will be much appreciated. I've done a search on the web to see if there are any pictures on how to do that, but came up empty. Thanks in advance, - Peter. ---------------------------------------------------------- Peter Vanvliet ([email protected]) http://www.fourthray.com/ http://www.fourthray.com/Peter/ Houston, Texas ---------------------------------------------------------- [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
