Hi Charles;

I couldn't agree more (with people working with different materials to build a 
layout). Jeff Ngowe appears to be interested in methods that require minimal 
carpentry. It happens that cutting the 1X3 or 1X4 supports needed for 
lightweight foam and ceiling tile construction would be reasonable, even with 
hand tools. 

I also know and respect modelers who say the only reason they use 3/4 inch 
plywood for the layout is they can't get it 1 inch thick!

There are some good points made; if the layout is going to be in a flood prone 
or very damp basement, or Jeff has allergies to the ceiling tile material, he 
needs to look at other construction methods. But I'd hate to have him think 
2X4s and 3/4 plywood that you can walk on is the only thing that works!
