Ken...You should call (not email) NCE Corp (the DCC folks) and ask them about
their new Layout Lighting Module which is in R&D at the moment. This is a long
skinny printed circuit board assembly with LEDs of various colors mounted in
rows. The board attaches to the ceiling over your train layout and the colors
change to simulate night (blue), sunrise, daytime and sunset. It is
programmable via your NCE throttle and the speed of color change and hues are
all controllable. I believe the printed circuit boards can be connected
end-to-end for a long strip of lighting. Takes 1/4 watt per square foot of
lighting effects. A great addition to any model railroad layout. There is a
You Tube video clip showing it in action. Cost and date of release has not yet
been determined. But you will like it. Trust me! Cheers...Ed L.
