Take a look at the link, I believe the shot was taken near a B&O yard (Winans?) 
in Baltimore.  These cantilever masts are very similar to the C&O design, that 
could be a good thing.  The C&O used a different signal head, but otherwise 
they probably work for both railroads.

Remember the "S" stands for 'close enough is good enough...' <G>
