Alan, Your photo shows signals that were not used by the B&O, CSX maybe but not the B&O...The B&O used color position light signals which is not what is in your reference photo...My guess is that the bridge in the photo is a C&O bridge not B&O. I posted Bill's link on the B&ORRHS site and have received many replies confirming that this is probably not a B&O prototype.
I do still think that this prototype could be used by many S-scale modelers who model other railroads. I have attached some links to B&O cantilever signal bridges, However I must say that this type of signal bridge was used very rarely by the B&O. Most Signals were mounted on a single mast or on signal bridges that covered 4 or more tracks. http://www.flickr.com/photos/8226...@n06/2411398612/ http://www.trainweb.org/oldmainline/was3a.htm#cantilevered_signal Thanks for your efforts to support the S-Scale community. I created the signal tower that Bill posted. Like you I am not sure the true origin of the tower design. I "eye balled" my design from the picture linked below. http://i601.photobucket.com/albums/tt99/virgal211/Chessie_DK_ColorLight.jpg Thank you for your interest.
