The Shinohara #8 is a whole different beast compared to the #6. Other than
maybe needing a bit of tightening up to reduce guard rail spacing (usually
NOT necessary) and possibly some spiking at the heel of the point to ensure
alignment with the closure rail (needed only if long, heavy trains are
pushed through it), these are great turnouts with good geometry -- not
tighter than the usual #8.

----Hi Butch, Shinohara also makes a #8 so even if it's tighter than a
normal #8 it should be plenty broad compared to your minimum radius....
