Nope, I have no intention of altering my quite-satisfactory low-flange DCC
2-8-0, although if an AC one falls into my lap
sufficiently cheaply (hasn't happened so far) I might consider buying
replacement drivers from Don. Between the rewiring
and buying the drivers, it would not make a lot of sense to get an AC one with
the idea of converting unless the benefits
are considerable.
Interesting that so many found full-scale homes--but then I am used to a
much-greater disparity between ready-to-run operators
(I am restraining myself from referring to them as tinplaters or toy train
players-with) and two-rail scale modelers in O scale, where
it is probably four or five or six to one (perhaps even more--no one has
offered hard figures).
