'Tis true.   Floquil discontinued the laquer based paints when it was taken 
over by Testors, and Dio-sol disappeared at the same time. Though the 
Floquil thinner was still called by that name for while, it was really a 
souped up enamel thinner.   I believe that all Floquil paints are now 
enamels or acrylics, just like the rest of the Testors lines.

Someone posted a replacement formula for making one's own Dio-sol on this 
list not too long ago, I think.   It uses a combination of some nasty 
solvents...

can buy it in pint cans. It is not listed in the Walthers catalog or web 
site. I bought my last pint can of Di-Sol many years ago.
