Aside from Tomalco, I recall articles in the old Herald on S narrow gauge using
the old Mantua/Tyco 4-6-0 model. This locomotive was patterned after Sierra RR
#3 (and first issued lettered C&NFW for the line in the old Petticoat Junction
TV series). The model is about 20% oversize for HO, so it works as a starting
point for an S narrow gauge model. The AHM/IHC 4-4-0 V&T engines Geno/Reno/Inyo
are also oversize for HO. I think Harold Minkwitz had a page on his site about
using these engines in S. He posts occasionally on this list some maybe he can
comment.
