If folks are cutting back on big purchases and start building layouts with
the stuff they already have the demand is then gonna be parts and scenic
details. I've always thought it makes more sense to produce all the parts like
windows, doors, siding, roofing, etc. that can be used to build any building
instead of a kit for a specific building. We might not need that certain
interlocking tower but we certainly will need some kind of buildings and the
parts to build them. Same thing goes for rolling stock, if someone wants to
scratch build or modify flyer or other equipment they still need details like
brake gear,end casting, doors, etc. We'd also need track and switch parts like
frogs, points, spikes, tie plates, etc. so there's plenty of need for someone
to supply the S scale market even if we don't buy much RTR stuff....dave
