Thanks for the info on tank cars.  Since I have a couple dozen of the SSA kits 
that I have painted and decaled, it’s good to know that they are close to being 
accurate!  I’ve also been told that the rivets on the top of the tank are 
wrong.  Does anyone know what is correct?

Hi Dick;

Those changes would make the car look more like an ACF (or several other 
builder's) cars. As is, the cars are most similar to GATX cars which did not 
have the end or stub side sills. See the Google Books reference I posted 
earlier which covers some of this.

For GATX cars they should have two-rung corner steps.
