I’ll have to get some of those books, Pieter.  They look very useful.  
Expensive, though: I’ll need to sell some of my freight cars!

Hi Roger;

The Speedwitch Media book I cited actually does have a couple of shots showing 
car tops of steam era tank cars, as well as many other photos and text 
describing the differences between manufacturer's car designs (at least, the 
tank section of the guide I have covers all that, the current book is supposed 
to be an expansion of the one I have). It is all B+W. Morning Sun recently 
released a color guide to tank cars if you want color photos, although I 
suspect the steam era coverage is limited.
