Bob,

If you are submitting a document for publication in some magzine, they will NOT 
want you to try to insert photos into the text.  They will want the text 
completely unformated (other than paragraphs)...no fancy captalization, 
underlining, etc.  They will only have to undo all that special formating 
anyway.  And I've never heard of magazine that wanted anything other than some 
version of Word.   Provide captions for photos separately.  Then send the 
photos with numbers to match the captions.    If you're self-publishing this 
document, I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Star Office 6 software.  I do know 
that Word allows inserting images and they stay put.  I've recently 
self-published a 216 page book with Word with 300 photos, maps and diagram so 
it can be done, it just takes some time!  Brooks
