Hi guys, just got back from a long "historical" slide show. We spent about
four hours looking at slides of the vintage days of railroading in the Twin
Cities area. I really enjoyed the show. Thursday, the Pines and Prairies
group met over at Jeff Saine's to see how he is doing on his rebuild. Jeff is
making great progress, I brought over some of the ImagineThat industrial wall
sections and some of the Sherwood building sides, Jeff had a few sides himself,
so we make some mock up of designs. One that we left to mull over really looks
great with a variety of heights and depths along his back wall. When Jeff has
had some time to refine his idea, i will try to get a photo to post. I
continue to build my scenic view blocks. I discovered another way to finish
the blocks to get a lighter block color with a nice sooty finish. I am also
blocking over some windows and changing the wall layouts so I have unique
structures. I will post updated photos later this weekend.
I am going to get one of the scenic projects done then set it aside so I can
switch gears and work on a different project. I think that is the great thing
about the hobby, I can enjoy a variety of modeling activities.
I have seen some of the early shots taken of the Wataga area of the layout
Steve is working on. I think it will be another great scene, I am sure you will
see photos posted soon.
Have a great weekend, we are wrapping up January, that feels good.
