Yes, on an HO layout with static grass. Jim Six has an elevator with sporadic traffic. We put static grass on the track there and the rails are mostly hidden. His DCC engines operate flawlessly on it. The grass springs back up after the train leaves. Quite interesting to watch. This layout has been in several recent magazines - I believe MR and also MR Planner.
Mark Plank -----Original Message----- From: Bill Lane <[email protected]> Has anyone ever made grassy overgrown trackage but with the intention of **running on it regularly?** (Sounds like this is a job for grass man Brian Jackson!) I also plan on trying to make at least part of my yard as the "black mucky can't see a tie" thing with just varying parts of the rails exposed. My number 1 idea for now is regular spackle. We will see when the time comes. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
