I agree whole-heartedly with everything Dick Karnes says about the 1:64
Modeling Guide. Bob Nalbone has done a great job providing us scale modelers
with our only exclusive publication, and in general, it does not seem like the
scale community has fallen all other themselves to support his efforts.

Does anyone on this S-scale list not currently subscribe to the Modeling Guide?
Why not? I look at the money I spend each year to get the Dispatch and the
S-Gaugian, and I have to admit that a big chunk of that money goes down the
drain because of the AF content both of these magazines contain. From the Don
Heimburger's and NASG's standpoint, I can understand the need to try and serve
both S constituencies, but the results for us scale modelers is often paying
dearly for a few pages of relevant content.

We scale modelers are a very small group, and perhaps shrinking in size as time
marches on. It is inevitable that the only way to semi-profitably service our
small group is going to be through e-publication. That is not a bad thing -
just look at the great modeling magazine being produced by the PRR Historical
Society (recent issues are available online).

Let's support Bob with our subscriptions and articles!
