MRH is a great magazine, especially since the magazine can be downloaded with embedded content so you can read it without an internet connection and still see the movies and such. Plus it is free and has an amazing amount of advertising. More S would be really nice but in needs articles submitted. Currently I have nothing to show or contribute but maybe when I finish moving I can do some construction or layout articles again like I did for S Gaugian eons ago.
1:64 Modeling is a nice magazine but pricey and a little short on content. I will continue to subscribe hoping for improvements. It would be great if it had back issues available as PDF files for free or for purchase. I'm a big fan of having pdf files for magazines because it saves so much space, can be printed in whole or part and can be backed up. I think the biggest issue is the price of hardcopy magazines and the distribution costs for the publishers. How much does it cost to print and distribute a magazine like 1:64 Modeler compared to distributing as a PDF file like MRH. Those are the economics involved. I don't subscribe to many print publications because of the waste involved in discarding all the paper for newspapers, magazines, etc. Only issue I have is I need an e-reader to take to the library? ;-) No monitor there.
