Dave,
The amount of used NYC "stuff" on ebay is very little. I don't really like to 
rely on used sales as a guideline for the cost of a scale, because used stock 
is not always available. That being said, an Atlas O GP-7 is $499, 3-4 Ho 
locomotives (the maximum amount i need) are about the same price, if not 
cheaper. I figure that the sweet spot for purchasing S locos in my case is 
around $250 or less. Which, seems possible with some of the generous discounts 
i see dealers having. Lastly, are there many or few NYC modelers in S? It seems 
as if the NYC units (if any) are always sold out first. This either means very 
few were made, or there are a lot of us that buy the models.
