You get no argument from me on that one.  I was only pointing to the "model 
railroader" - "railroad modeler" distinction.  Some folks are driven by the 
principle' "If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing".  And that, my friend, 
will always get the attention.

I disagree to an extent. Yes, it is a philosophy but when you look at the work 
of many of the outstanding railroad modelers out there at narrow gauge 
conventions, or craftsman structure shows, or in some of the narrow gauge or 
fine modeling annuals it's the details that are lauded. I'd say that community 
has become obsessed with details. When you start putting muddy foot prints on 
your running boards you are obsessed with detail.
