Greetings,
I had a great time in Sacramento, although, in my opinion, it was downhill
after the very first evert. Or more specifically, the first part of the first
event. The Amtrak ride towards the bay area was fabulous. I really do like
riding the train. Everything else was great. The train ride was just the
best. We found three brew pubs. Rented bikes and rode along the river.
Walked almost everywhere. Toured the museum twice. Saw dancing girls! (Part
of the convention! Not an after-hours tour!) Carried two suitcases to the
train station. Helped the BASS guys take down their layout, and the closest
time I came to breaking a sweat was watching the dancing girls! The
temperature was great until about 1pm, and then again after 7pm, so you just
had to limit your outdoor exposure during those hours. Unlike Brian, I did
manage to spend some money, but it was hard to watch the Fast-Tracks guy build
turnouts when I knew my order from him was waiting for me at home.
