I have to agree with Ed on this. I only bought an S-scale America freight car after I saw a picture of it on eBay. Without knowing what the car looks like, they are too expensive to just buy to see if it is what I like. Not every item has to be photographed, but at least on of each type, perhaps, or maybe one of each road name would be good.
The same goes for detail parts. B.T.S. has a good selection of detailing parts with some of them photographed (you're in luck if that's one you need). Taking and posting photos takes time, though. Those of us who actively maintain a web site could help by posting photos of items bought for which the manufacturer or retailer has not posted a photo yet. It not only helps the seller, but also the S community at large, I think. - Peter.
