Sounds worse than the Duluth convention last year, where the day I attended
almost everyone went off on the fan trip. Despite that, I did manage to spend
$6-700, mostly
because I was relatively-new to S scale and there was a lot I didn't yet have
(and the prices were generally considerably better than I'd found on ebay); if
Jettie had not
had taken a long lunch hour, I probably would have ended up spending $3-400
more on brass.

By now, as I've mentioned on the list previously, I am well-equipped with most
of the basics--really too well-equipped, as I could stand to part with 15-20
freight cars and
a couple of locomotives--so when I show up at St Louis the end of October I
don't expect to drop a bundle (but then I never expect to spend a lot at the
Chicago O scale
show each year, as much O scale as I am sitting on, but it still regularly hits
the $600-1000 range).
