Understand from Ron that all the brass parts will be available after the
project is finished. Many of them are usable on other EMD Engines.
He does have an GP/SD 7/9 Snow Plow in "O" scale brass, but is not going to
produce it in "S". So all of you GP/SD 7/9 guys, besides me, that want it
better let him know there is a market for it. Told him I would buy at least
fifteen of them.

I got a chance to see the SD45 test shots at the Des Plaines Hobbies both today
at the National Train Show and talk to Ron briefly. I had a great chat with Ron
about the SD45 shell although it was a bit short. It is a work of art. He had
two versions of the cab, one being the NP/BN with four windows on the side. The
progress maybe a bit slow for some of you but the wait is well worth it IMHO. I
also got to chat with Bob Werre and we both agreed it will be an outstanding
unit.

There were 4 S layouts at the show including an Sn3. All of them seemed to be
well watched and the feeling I got was "S is a great size." We all know that
but today there were G gauge layouts down to Z and I felt the S layouts held
their own very well. One comment I heard about the Z layout was "where's the
magnifying glass?" All in all, a pretty good display and interest level gauge
IMO. S got a strong boost in recognition this last week.
