Troops:
Okay... have spent some time this afternoon/evening with my fleet of AM
Baldwins, running, examining, cleaning wheels, etc. Dug out my trusty ol'
MRC Tech 2 test pack and hooked the alligator clips to a section of
just-cleaned track. They run fine. No, not as "perfect" as an SHS SW/NW...
but still... fine.
Me thinks I can spend lots of money and take up precious time trying to
extract that last nth of performance from them, but after spending some time
with them on the rail: They'll be okay as is. My concern was much ado about
nothing, I'm a'feared. Will likely paint the undec SHS NW2 I have into the
KC&G anyway... OR... I could try to strip the lettering off some of my
duplicate AM boxcars in preparation for some relettering... OR... I could
resume some piddle work on the layout OR... you get the idea!! (Plenty to
do.)
Back to the modeling bench!
