Your description of the Northeastern operations brought back memories for me. When I was in college in the early 1960s my family lived in North Chelmsford, not far from the Northeastern mill in Ballardvale. I would go over there on my school breaks and stock up on stripwood from their reject barrel. As I recall, they would charge me $5 for a box full. I am still using some of that stock half a century later. I also recall that one of the owners was building a full-size airplane in the shop when he wasn't cutting stripwood. -Wes
